Suddenly, *LED technology is way out front in the alternative 'green' lighting category, overtaking **CFLs. An American LED lighting company called Luma Vue is way out in front in the LED category.

How it Works

Luma Vue applies its proprietary engineering process to cluster solid LED lights together (sometimes hundreds) and encase them in or behind diffuser lenses/panels. The resulting bulbs, tubes or lighting products are extraordinarily luminescent over a wide beam field, and the bulbs last more than ten times longer than CFLs.

LED bulbs have no filament, therefore they are more durable and have a far greater range of industrial, institutional, recreational and emergency applications.

LED bulbs are cool to the touch and do not cause heat build-up. LEDs produce less than 3.5 BTUs per hour, compared to approximately 85 for traditional incandescent bulbs.

LED bulbs are mercury free, posing no potential harm if bulbs are broken in the home, landfill or recycling depot.

LED bulbs are cost-effective in reduced energy use, replacement costs, and device battery life. LED tubes require no ballast and therefore maintenance and electrician costs are reduced or eliminated.
